About these sessions

My outdoor family photography sessions in Bury St Edmunds and across Suffolk are made for families who feel most themselves with a little space to roam.

Rather than asking everyone to stand still and smile at the camera, we’ll walk, explore, play and simply spend some time together outdoors. I’ll gently guide when it’s helpful, then step back and photograph the moments that unfold naturally.

The windswept hair, muddy knees, small hands reaching for yours, bursts of movement and quieter pauses in between. These are often the photographs that become the most precious because they hold something of how this season of family life actually felt.

There’s no need for perfectly behaved children or carefully rehearsed smiles. Come as you are, and let the outdoors give everyone room to settle into themselves.

Session Fees

Session fees include travel within 10 miles of Bury St Edmunds, all shooting time, full editing of your photographs, and a client‑curated gallery for you to select your final images from. For anything else, just reach out - I’m always happy to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A little cloud, breeze or changeable weather doesn't necessarily mean we need to cancel. Often, it becomes part of the atmosphere of the photographs.

    If the weather really isn't suitable, we'll simply make a new plan.

  • Yes. Each season brings something different to an outdoor session, from soft spring growth and long summer evenings to autumn textures and quieter winter landscapes.

    There's no perfect season, only the one that feels right for your family.

  • We’ll choose an outdoor location that gives your family space to relax and move naturally. This might be somewhere familiar to you or a location we choose together around Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk or the surrounding area.

  • You can absolutely reschedule if you need to, just let me know as soon as you can. You’re welcome to move your session once at no extra cost. We’ll find a new date that works.

    If you need to reschedule more than once, your non‑refundable deposit will secure the new date, and another deposit may be needed.

  • You’ll know by spending a little time with the images across my site. Notice how they make you feel, and whether the softness, honesty and calmness resonate with your family. If you’re drawn to natural, unposed moments and photographs that feel like real memories, we’re likely a good fit.

    Choosing the right photographer really matters, so a quick chat can help us both feel whether my gentle, unhurried approach is right for you.

  • Once our session ends, I carefully select and edit your images. Within 7 working days, you’ll receive a First Peek Gallery, a set of highlights to choose from, based on your package. You’ll get a secure PIN to view and share the gallery.

    After you’ve chosen your favourites, I edit each one in my natural, signature style. Your final gallery is delivered as high‑quality digital downloads, ready to save, print and treasure.

  • Choose clothes that feel comfortable, familiar and easy to move in.

    Rather than everyone matching, think about colours and textures that sit gently together and feel at home in the landscape. Most importantly, everyone should still feel like themselves.
